Col du Tourmalet
A design that salutes one of the most storied climbs in cycling, but in a slightly different way…
To give the design a twist, we celebrated Tourmalet’s essential Frenchness by styling it to look like a chic wine label instead of a cycling t-shirt. But look closer and the clues are all there…
The wine is called Col du Tourmalet, the red 2115 is Tourmalet’s height in metres. ‘Depuis 1910’ (flanked by two small climbing cyclists) refers to the year Tourmalet first appeared in The Tour de France. 12% is the steepest gradient on the climb. Haute Pyrénées is Tourmalet’s region and the two lions also appear on Haute Pyrénées coat of arms.
