Sapporo ‘72 celebrates the snowy Japanese city of Sapporo, and the winter games held there in 1972.
Our design re-arranges the 7 and 2 of ‘72 into a distinctive graphic shape full of energy and movement, with steep downhill angles and swoopy iceskating curves. Cunningly, the red circle of the Japanese flag appears twice in the design. Once in the flag itself and and again, identical in shape and size, as the inside of the second ‘o’ in Sapporo.
